What about the little D/S bikes?

I'm resurrecting a 1974 DT175 so I can toodle around town and hop trails in the Lancaster / Leominster area. Anyone around the area to ride with? Single track to dirt roads, I'm all in. Maybe even put together my DT360 towards the end of the summer.

My buddy Russ from NY has a DT400 that he rides all over the place at his second home in Hancock NY. He is just down the road from the starting area of their DS run. He rides that bike all over the place. I have always thought a good bike for that would be an SL350 or a TS250, , maybe a resto job is in order for one?

My brother rips our Uncles old 74 MT250 all around Pepperell/Townsend from spring to fall. Great for running to the parts store for small stuff. I'm trying to talk him into giving me one of the 3 he picked up in the deal out of NH. I know he has 2 going but one is a little low on compression.

I ride my Dad's RD200 (the one I gave him last summer) when I go visit and it's a hoot to ride around town. I know he goes for DD runs in the morning on it before the weather got cold..

Once I get the 175 running reliably, I will decide whether to rebuild the 360. I always liked the green 360's. I'm looking forward to zipping around town with the gf and doing some simple trail riding on dual DT's.

Wish there were more guys around to show me the trails. But I don't mind finding them myself too.

I had a dt360 growing up.I remember it was a heavy beast but I climbed hills most others failed.

I have the 1974 Dirt Bike mag with the 350cc enduro shootout. Funny that the DT360 has less power than the 4 stroke XL350. But I guess I would be the right owner for this bike as I'm confident I could almost double the HP if I wanted to.

It's in dire need of a diet as well. And some minor suspension updates. Should be a fun bike though.

I have an orange 1971 Yamaha CT1 175 For Sale, with a New Hampshire Registration. It runs well. Lights, gauges, oil injection, etc work. Needs a battery, but runs fine as is. Trans oil changed, new plug, air filter serviced. All original, with decent cosmetics. Has a high front fender on it now, comes with a complete original low front fender. Comes with a ton of spares, like a frame with swingarm, engine, wheels, engine parts, tank, oil tanks, entire front end, and lots of misc hardware. Pics of bike and parts available on request. I got the crusty DT175 running great. Still need to tighten the rear spokes and put some rubber from this century on it.

Anyone have suggestions for new sneakers for this bike? 18" Rear and 19" front. Looking for mostly dirt but DOT and good wear characteristics.

Also, I hear that after a certain year, it's easier to register or title a bike in MA with just a Bill of Sale. Is this true?

When I get it on the road, I will be looking for trail buddys.

Pirelli MT43 would probably be good on that bike, at least on the rear. Unless a 4.00 is too wide.
