AME Heated Waffle Grips Experience?

I have a few sets of AME Heated grips.When they work,they work great.I have not been lucky with them.The company has good customer service as they have sent me parts an new grip kits to replace the malfunctioning units.
Has anyone had success with these AME grips?Have they been reliable?Any install tips?Information on other grips not needed,just AME.Thanks.

P.S. They are Clamp On style.

No experience with the AME heated grips, but I just made a set of clamp on heated grips for my 2018 KTM.

1) Take stock clamp on grips off bike
2) Strip rubber grip from plastic frame (takes some scraping - kryptonite glue)
3) Install heating elements
4) Install new grips

So far, they seem to be holding up well.

In all, I have about $50 into this while still maintaining the stock KTM lock on throttle assembly.

I found #2 easier said than done...I felt tube was too fubar after this process. Be nice if you could just buy the tube and install whatever grip you wanted.

No doubt, it takes some effort to remove the stock grip rubber, but with some care, patience, and beer it can be done
