dual sport tires

So I need some opinions on DS front tires. I'm mostly 80/20 offroad and want a tire for the classic, and a couple other rides this year.
I have a 690 with mt21's on it now but they have low knobs and wear quickly so the trail life of these tires is about 500 miles. I'm planning and bought a MT16 for the rear but need a 90/90 for the front, DOT.

Curious about this too. Check out the Moto-z mountain X hybrid that is a cross between a knob an trials and looks very dual-sporty. It is DOT. I have one but have yet to try it.

Before the Bridgestone M59 became the go to New England tire it was the Pirelli MT18 that is DOT legal. The MT44 was the go to for snotty days but the MT18 for most days. Life was better than the M59 and DO NOT get the Hard version of it, sidewalls are like 10 plys. LOL
